ANYbotics Launches ANYmal X
Bringing Autonomous Inspection into Hazardous Environments
ANYbotics has begun customer deliveries of ANYmal X, the world’s first legged inspection robot built for explosive atmospheres.
ANYbotics has reached a major milestone with the launch of ANYmal X. Now shipping to customers including Equinor and DSM-Firmenich, the robot brings autonomous inspection into hazardous areas of oil, gas, and chemical facilities.
These environments pose a particular challenge for automation: equipment must meet stringent explosion-protection requirements while navigating complex industrial infrastructure. ANYmal X combines that protection with the mobility to climb stairs and move through narrow walkways, without requiring facility modifications.
Its visual, thermal, acoustic, and gas sensors collect consistent readings to help maintenance teams detect leaks, overheating, and equipment deterioration. Through ANYbotics’ Shift™ platform, findings are organized by asset and connected to existing maintenance systems, helping teams identify developing problems and take action.
The launch follows hundreds of onshore and offshore test missions with industrial partners. Customer deliveries now mark an important step toward expanding autonomous inspection where worker safety and equipment reliability are critical.
At Walden Catalyst, we are proud to support ANYbotics as the team brings physical AI into daily industrial operations. Congratulations to Péter Fankhauser and the entire team on this milestone.
