OPAQUE Raises $24M Series B to Unlock Trusted Enterprise AI

As enterprises confront the trust gap in AI adoption, OPAQUE is building the cryptographic foundation for confidential, production-grade AI.

AI has reached an inflection point in the enterprise. Models are powerful, agents are emerging, and use cases are clear — but adoption continues to stall at the same bottleneck: trust.

Today, we’re proud to share that OPAQUE has raised $24 million in Series B funding at a $300 million post-money valuation, led by Walden Catalyst, with participation from returning investors Intel Capital, Race Capital, Storm Ventures, and Thomvest, as well as new strategic investor Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC). This brings OPAQUE’s total funding to $55.5 million.

Across industries, enterprises want to deploy AI agents and workflows on their most valuable, and most sensitive data. But privacy, compliance, and auditability risks continue to halt progress. CISOs and legal teams are rightfully cautious: once data enters an AI workflow, how can organizations prove it remained private, governed, and compliant?

This widening “trust gap” is holding AI back.

Confidential AI has moved from concept to enterprise priority in a short period, with broad endorsement from major technology players including NVIDIA, AMD, Intel, Anthropic, and all major hyperscalers such as Google, Microsoft Azure, and AWS. According to Gartner, Confidential AI techniques are becoming essential for securing next-generation AI workflows and protecting sensitive data used by AI models.

Why We Invested

At Walden Catalyst, we invest where foundational technology unlocks entirely new waves of adoption. OPAQUE is doing exactly that, defining the trust layer for enterprise AI.

OPAQUE’s Confidential AI platform delivers something the market has been missing: cryptographic proof that sensitive data, model integrity, and policy enforcement remain protected before, during, and after runtime. This goes beyond traditional security or governance tools by providing verifiable guarantees, turning trust from a promise into a measurable property.

As Young Sohn, Founding Managing Partner at Walden Catalyst, notes:

“Enterprises will continue to struggle to bring AI into production until they have verifiable guarantees that their most sensitive data and models are protected. OPAQUE has pioneered a platform built for verifiable privacy, policy enforcement, and model integrity, capabilities that are quickly becoming critical for enterprise AI.”

Enabling Confidential-First AI Infrastructure

With this new funding, OPAQUE is accelerating the development and delivery of its Confidential AI platform across several critical fronts, including:

  • Runtime confidentiality with cryptographic proof

  • Policy enforcement and auditability

  • Expansion into confidential AI training and post-quantum security

  • Support for sovereign cloud deployments

The company also recently launched OPAQUE Studio, a development environment that lets teams build and deploy Confidential AI agents with runtime-verifiable privacy, policy compliance, and auditability, helping enterprises move from pilot to production faster.

A Foundational Shift for Enterprise AI

We believe AI will only scale in the enterprise when governance is embedded by design, not bolted on after deployment. OPAQUE is setting that new standard, where privacy, integrity, and policy compliance are provable, not assumed.

We’re excited to continue partnering with the OPAQUE team as they help enterprises turn sensitive data from a liability into a competitive advantage — and enable the next chapter of trusted, enterprise-grade AI.
