Roni is among the founders of the venture capital industry in Israel, having started Walden Israel in 1993. He has accumulated wide experience making early stage investments, many of which reached successful exits via strategic acquisitions or IPO’s. In 2006, Roni came top of Forbes Midas List in 2006 in Israel.
His primary interest is in all areas of deep technology and semiconductors.
My primary focus when making an investment is people. There are inherent risks in venture capital: technology changes, markets change, but people do not change. If you back the right people, they are more likely to successfully address changes and challenges in technology and markets.
In line with my interest in people, one of my favorite books is "Thinking, Fast and Slow" by Daniel Kahneman, who won the Nobel price for his work on the psychology of judgement and decision making.
