Young Sohn is a Silicon Valley business executive and investor. He currently serves as Chairman of the Samsung Semiconductor Advisory Board, Chairman of the Board of HARMAN International, Chairman of the Board of Speedinvest, and Founding Managing Partner at Walden Catalyst Ventures.
Previously, he was Corporate President and Chief Strategy Officer of Samsung Electronics, where he led global strategy for innovation, investment, and new business creation. He also served as CEO of two successful public Silicon Valley companies, Inphi and Oak Technology, where he took Inphi public, and has held board positions at Arm, Cymer (ASML), and other leading technology firms.
Young has been a seed investor in some of the industry’s most innovative companies, including Berkeley Lights, AI21 Labs, Zoom Video, Ring, Noom, SambaNova, and TTTech. He currently serves on the boards of Cadence Design Systems and Arm.
He is the Co-Founder of the Extreme Tech Challenge (XTC), the world’s largest global startup competition inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and previously served as a Senior Advisor to Silver Lake Partners.
