Nuvia develops next-generation processors for use in server and cloud infrastructure. The groundbreaking semiconductor company is working to deliver significant improvements in the energy-efficiency of data centers, through CPU cores with enhanced performance, integrations, and scalability. The company’s custom designs are built on underlying ARM-based architecture, specifically engineered for server applications. Together, these improvements will reduce the cost of ownership for users, thanks to the deployment of advances made in mobile technology.

Nuvia is based in Santa Clara, California, with additional offices and remote workers across the US, Europe, Canada, and India.

In 2019, Walden Catalyst’s Managing Partner Lip-Bu Tan invested in Nuvia’s Series A funding round with WRVI Capital. A deal was reached in early 2021 for Nuvia to be acquired by Qualcomm, at a $1.4bn valuation, which is expected to see the company’s CPU core designs applied to a broader range of applications and devices.
